Would others at your institution, or in your region, benefit from a meeting about SENCER? Do you have ideas about a great SENCER meeting topic, but no idea where to start on logistics, such as catering and room sets? Join Kyle Simmons, NCSCE’s Faculty Development Events Manager, who will walk you through the basics of planning a SENCER meeting on your campus. From determining the purpose and potential audiences for your meeting, to budgeting, marketing, on-site management and evaluation, this webinar will present 13 steps for efficiently managing a meeting of any size. Examples of questions that will be answered include:

  • How much lead-time do I need to plan a good meeting?

  • How do I choose an appropriate venue?

  • How do I put together a meeting budget? What items should it include?

  • What is the best way to manage lodging for an overnight meeting?

  • In what ways can NCSCE support my efforts to organize a meeting on campus or in my region?

As the Faculty Development Events Manager, Kyle has been responsible for planning NCSCE’s SENCER Summer Institute, Washington Symposium, and last year’s Department Chairs Workshop. He works with Eliza Reilly, NCSCE’s Deputy Director of Programs, to identify and create programming for  new meetings that serve the community. He also supports SENCER regional efforts  by managing meeting registration and evaluation, as well as advising co-directors about meeting logistics. Previously, Kyle planned meetings and managed programs for high school students and teachers interested in civic engagement. Kyle is a Convention Industry Council Certified Meeting Professional, and was named among Connect Magazine’s 40 under 40 meeting planners in 2015.
